Svaroopa® (pronounced Swa-roo-pa) is a Sanskrit word that means ‘the bliss of your own being’.

    “It all begins at the tailbone.”

Svaroopa® yoga is a unique style of hatha yoga that focuses on creating core opening by releasing tension in the deepest layers of your body. Svaroopa® yoga differs from other styles of yoga in its approach to opening the spine systematically from the base, your tailbone, through your sacrum, waist and ribcage. Alignment and propping are keys to this spinal release.

    “Support equals release.”

The release of the deepest held tensions is provided by aligning your skeletal structure precisely, with the use of blocks, hands-on adjustments and blankets, blankets and more blankets. The support from the props allows the muscles to soften and relax without effort. This can lead to rejuvenation in all systems of your body.

INTRODUCTORY
- 3 class series by appointment.

In this series you experience the release of spinal tension in your body as you learn some of Svaroopa®’s primary spinal openers and the foundational breathing practice. As part of this series you learn Svaroopa® yoga’s series of poses known as the ‘Magic 4’ sequence which you can use in your own home practice to continue the openings you get in class.
